help and questions

what is mydrobe?
mydrobe is a new and easy way to organize your wardrobe, share your style with others, and find new fashions!

does it cost anything to use mydrobe?
mydrobe is and always will be free.

how do i get started?
first, you have to sign up.  click sign up above to get your free account.

once you sign up, you can begin filling up your mydrobe with all of your clothes.  if you have a digital camera, take a few minutes to take some pictures of your clothes.  just lay them on your bed and snap some pics, it doesn't have to be perfect.  then, click [New] to add new clothes to your profile.  you can fill in as little or as much as you want.  of course, the more you add, the easier it will be for you to find your clothes.

do i need a digital camera to use mydrobe?
it's not required, but everything on your profile will come up as question marks.  ask for one when christmas, your birthday, etc. comes around - you won't regret it!

when i add clothes, should i post pictures of me wearing the clothes, or just the clothes themselves?
you can upload either.  whatever is more appropriate.  most people just lay them on the floor, but if you want to model, go for it.  in fact, make a mydrobe party out of it with friends and model your clothes.

what is the "burn pile"?
this is where the clothes that you no longer have go.  clothes in your burn pile are hidden from your profile, but are still part of your old outfits and c-blog.  if you really want to get rid of something, you can delete it permanently from your burn pile.

i burned something by accident, what should i do?
click 'restore', and then choose the right category for your clothes.  that'll fix'er right up. :-)

what is the c-blog?
an c-blog is where you can post pictures of yourself wearing the clothes that you put into your mydrobe.  once you have some clothes in your mydrobe, you can choose [New] next to outfits and put in your picture.  you can then choose what you were wearing in the picture, just like in a magazine!

what is an event?
an event (sometimes called "votes") is where you can ask the world to dress you!  people can look through your clothes and put together an outfit for you for an upcoming event!  don't know what to wear tomorrow?  just make an event!  you can get hundreds of votes and opinions from others!

how do i make an event?
first, make sure you have some clothes added to your wardrobe.  people need choices!  then, click [New] next to events.  put in a description of the event, choose an ending date, and then click finish!  it's that easy!

how do i know what date to put on an event?
if you need a decision for what to wear or buy, maybe put in a day or two earlier.  if it's something more general, it can be as long or short as you want.  if you make it too long, then your event will end after you get 1,000 votes.

soon...

what is an avatar?
an avatar is a picture or icon for yourself that other people see in your comments and in your profile.  most people put a headshot of themselves, but you can put in anything.

what the HECK is an RSS feed?
an rss feed is a special webpage that you can give to your friends to add to their favorite newsreader, such as My Yahoo!, My AOL, etc.  if you have no clue what that means, don't worry about it :-)

can i suggest an outfit for someone else on mydrobe?
sure!  go to someone's profile and choose "make an outfit for ___".  you can pick from their mydrobe and put something together.  it's great for if you want to coordinate outfits with a friend for an upcoming outing!

how do i find more users on mydrobe? (coming soon)
click browse at the top of any page.  for now, it just lists a bunch of people.  as the site gets bigger, this will change.

can i delete my mydrobe account?
no, not yet.  it's okay if you decide to stop using it though.

i have a different question!
i'd like to hear it.  email me, and i'll answer for you and maybe also put it on this page: kevin@dresskevin.com
